Summary: I had to go to theW ESTERN DIGITAL site,to get software,to format this drive.I had to search ,on my own, after trial, and error, throwing away the first one I ordered, because it said it couldn't download windows, because it doesn't accept gpt format.WESTERN DIGITAL doesn't imform people, about their site...
Summary: Both hard drives were. S.M.A.R.T problem. One hard drive was replaced and also was bad also with the same problem. Looks like they were not new (despite as was advertized). According to manufacture label it was made in 2005 and not under manufacture warranty.

Summary: I know what people say about 5-star ratings and rave reviews, but in this case, both the product and the seller (Finity India in California) deserve the 5-star rating, even though I initially had problems. When I received the product, the drive was defective. It would not run at all.
Summary: Perfect for a computer that uses the IDE interface (Ie: older desktops). I purchased this for one of my older computers I was going to run linux on. It worked ok, but I ended up having to return it.
Summary: It's a drive, with ide. If you know the interface of the drive, you know that your not going to get 6gbs the aging sata 6 would provide. It works for what it's was intended and designed for during that time. I can see this drive being used for tivos and Playstations to replace antiquedo drives.

Summary: just installed drive, runs beautifully, upgrades an old computer very nicely-would purchase again!!! If you have an older IDE drive computer you had better buy one of these as a backup because they aren't going to be around much longer and the price is starting to climb because of this fact.
Summary: I really like Western Digital hard drives. I've purchased a number of their drives over the years and have always been pleased with their performance and reliability. This drive was just perfect for a replacement in an older PC.
