Summary: Nice and snappy. I'm enjoying the extended capacity of my new Tivo Roamio! I bought a larger hard drive for my previous Tivo and noticed it running significantly slower afterwards. No such problem with this one!
Summary: I just turned my "Old" security camera DVR into a "Great DVR"! When I installed it,I figured out why it wouldn't power on. One of the electrical plugs unplugged itself. I was going to "Junk" the machine. (Amazon-You Always Fix My Biggest Problems!
Summary: I bought this drive in 02/2013 to replace a dead TiVo Series3 drive. It was a great upgrade considering my recording time went from 30 HD hours to 240 HD hours. It made a big difference while recording the 2014 Winter Olympics. I went for the AV drive over a less expensive Green drive solely because the AV drives are supposed to be made to be run for long periods of time.
Summary: The old external drive for my HR24-200 died and needed to be replaced. This drive in a Rosewill 3.5-Inch SATA to USB and eSATA External Enclosure with Internal 80mm Fan Cooling - Silver (RX-358 V2 SLV) works perfectly. I seem to have the entire 2 TB available.
Summary: They are working really well, but for the life of me, I could not get these drives to show up, even in the disk management tool in Windows 7 (64-bit). I wasn't aware that these drives use the new "Advanced Format" (4K Sector) that many HD manufacturers are moving to. This required me to install the latest copy of Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) driver. So, if you are having these problems, that should take care of it.
Summary: This drive was never a top performer, laggy at times, and finally quit working. It passes various disk tests, but the data was corrupted beyond use in a Tivo. Sending back for warranty replacement.
