Good hard drives
26 June 2014
Summary: I find it difficult to quantify a hard drive...it either works in the device you install it in, or it doesn't. I put mine into a DLink Network Video Recorder, and the hard drives are working fine. These seem like decent drives at a reasonable price.
Good hardrive, but slightly misses it, but still 5 stars.

Summary: I used this drive for video on a USB, it works well and allot faster then I thought it would be. I used and external housing and it worked well. It was a tad slow using a media center hub and sound would get buggy. I think that has more to do with the hub then the drive. It work well, and is very very quiet. Not much else to add its a great drive and worth every penny .
Summary: I bought 2 of these from Storite, and even though Storite's description explicitly says "New" they were both, in fact, labeled "Recertified" which means they're used, returned and resold. They did give me a discount when I made them aware of the problem, but it's something you should check no matter who you buy them from. Upon insertion in a Tivo Roamio, it took about 20 extra seconds for the WD20EURS to be prepared with the Apple partitions Tivo uses...
Great and perfect hard drive for a video surveillance system
19 July 2012
Summary: Great and perfect hard drive for a video surveillance system. I recently bought and set up a Zmodo video surveillance system that came without a hard drive. After careful investigation and shopping, I found that this drive, which was recommended by the makers of the system I had, was a perfect fit. I have been using it now, for over 7 months without a problem.
Summary: I used the WD20EURS to upgrade a TivoHDXL. I did not encounter any issues with this drive during the upgrade process. The drive runs silently. The Tivo reports 318 hours of HD recording capacity after the upgrade. I used wdidle3.exe on the drive expecting that I would have to disable the disk idle timer feature of the drive to avoid Tivo hanging on soft reboot. However, I was happy to find that the disk idle timer was already disabled by default on the new drive.
Summary: I've had this drive in a computer for storing video, not so much recording streams. I purchased this elsewhere, before the flood in thailand for a ridiculous price that we'll never see again. I've also backed up regular data on it. I created this review simply to stop the misinformation stream here. This drive is CAPABLE OF ignoring read or write errors but the way it stores data on the drive, and its ability to check errors is the same as any other desktop drive.
WD20EURS - ONLY USE DVR's or Security Camera's Etc.

Summary: this drive is amazing! ive got 1 in my tivo Premiem HD and wow is it fast and good! also have 2 in the Security Camera dvr setup again its not missed a beat! BUT i must warn you now DO NOT USE THIS IN A COMPUTER YOU WILL STORE DATA ON IE DOCUMENTS ETC!!!!! THE REASON FOR THIS IS BELOW The A/V drives ignore errors, the normal drives will do an error recovery to attempt to get back any data from the platter.
