Summary: Maybe best for other uses, e.g., external storage, AV devices, but in PCs... what a turtle! The HDD shortage is making choices limited, so it was not my first choice. BTW, we've sent back more failed WD drives in the last 6 months, then we did in the last 6 years! What going on with WD?
Pros: Its a Hard Drive
Cons: Used in a relatively well equipped laptop (4 GIG RAM, 2.2 GHz. Core2, Vista-64), clean O/S install, and this drive is significantly slower than others, included WD.
Summary: I sent this back as I thought that there was a problem with it and received a full refund. I now realise that the problem was with the connector I was using and not the drive. I would therefore give it a good review as I had no problems with it until the connector failed.
Summary: I'm happy now the hard drive is installed and running which it does perfectly. However, as I have little experience installing such equipment either, a set of detailed instructions included with the drive or, a link to where to find the instructions would have been very helpful.
