Died after just over a year of light use. RMA service excellent.

Summary: Had it installed in an ASUS netbook running Windows 8 Pro. It was running fine until the machine locked up. Upon a reboot the drive was no longer detected. It is still under warranty and I sent it in for RMA. Waiting for some kind of response from Transcend. Kind of spooked at how it just dropped dead with no warning. While it worked it was nice. Back to the slow original HD for now. Update: Drive was replaced under warranty. Has been running fine since then.
Summary: I got this last November (when it was about 80 bucks) and used in my Mac Mini to manually create a fusion drive with the stock 500GB 5400 rpm disk. What can I say - the computer has been up and running 24/7 since then, short of several of reboots for system updates. You have to know what this means - it is hot inside. Never noticed any issue with it, like slowness, beach balling, etc. SMART counters are all OK.
Summary: Strange... My SSD was mislabeled. It is only a 120GB. 8GB short. At first I was little annoyed but, oh well. Installed it and after formatting, there was 111GB available for use. PC is now fast>>fast>>fast! Purchased mine on discount for less than $70. The mislabeling is probably why mine was discounted. Still, a heads up on the actual storage amount would have been nice. Deducted one star for the deception.
Summary: From the very beginning this drive will get slower and slower! This was in my laptop PC! I never dropped it or moved the drive I have a crucial M4 (from 2011) and is still running strong this drive DIED in under 4 months! Won't even boot up I lost EVERYTHING! I won't be purchasing any more Transcend products. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVE! In fact due to BAD customer SERVICE STAY AWAY From this COMPANY! ALL Together!
Summary: This is a good drive, and it works as described. Transcend has been around for awhile, and I own several of their products including flash drives and SD drives. This was the first hard drive I purchased from them, but I have not be disappointed. Install was no more difficult then installing a hard drive on any other laptop. The drive was recognized by bios without issue, and Windows 7 installed with no problem.
Summary: I cloned my primary magnetic drive to it. Then I installed it in my 4 month old HP laptop computer. It loaded Windows and some other programs up to 3.5 times faster than its original magnetic drive when it was first installed! It doesn't seem as fast 8 months later. But I think I'm just used to it. Since my 3 year old Dell tower computer that was almost as fast as my new laptop computer, now seems very slow compared to it! So I must already be used to its speed.
Simply awesome, considering the price I've paid for it.

Summary: I bought this SSD on cyber monday deals week for $65. And I'm extremly happy with it. I've installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 and it works flawlessly. For the newbies, who want to move to SSD but puzzled with all these IOPS, ATTO benchmarks and so on. Simply disregard all that. This SSD will give you awesome performance boost compared to ANY HDD and even compared to earlier SSDs. So just go buy and enjoy.
Summary: Summary: Out of the box the Transcend drive functions quite nicely; however it does have some flaws and it requires some time to get the best performance out of it. However for the right price it can be worth it. Details: If this is your first solid state out of box it will work and do a good job, but its firmware is out of date and updating it can be tricky.
