Going to need help
Bob E., Amazon

Summary: Still fighting to get my HP Win7 laptop to recognize the drive. Have them installed in Bergtek 2.5 in. USB3 enclosures. Appears I am just not smart enough. At this point nothing was automatic.
Summary: I have been replacing the hard drives in my computers as they start to fail. I bought this thinking I would save a few bucks but have been a bit disappointed. It runs much slower than I expected. I replaced another a few months back and bought a Intel brand with very similar specs. It is way faster accessing and booting up compared this one.
Beware! No way to update firmware on Mac OS or Linux

Summary: I can't seem to find a way around having Windows in order to update this damn drive. The documentation says I can do it from Mac OS by booting to a Linux image they supply (USB_LINUX.dmg), but I can't find it anywhere! [...] I guess they have replaced their firmware utility for some all-in-one windows only application (SSD Scope). I'm not one happy customer.
Good price, however doesn't include parts for laptop installation

Summary: This SSD kit does not include a spacer that will allow it to fit securely in a laptop drive bay designed for 9.5 mm thick drives. Transcend support states such an item is not available, a disappointment as fitting it will be a challenge now. I previously purchased a Kingston SSD that included the spacer and made installation straightforward.
Summary: Transcend concedes that these SSDs shipped with bugged firmware. They posted that you need only connect it via SATA and run a firmware update. They forgot to say the motherboard needs to have AHCI driver capability, which my Vista era desktop pc's mobo doesn't have. So I've been going nuts for three days trying different programs, trying external enclosures, finding out about the AHCI, then putting the SSD in my Windows 7 laptop and trying to boot Fedora 14(the other...
Summary: Bought this on Black Friday deal, got a really good price so I am happy with the product. Though, I have spent many hours figuring out support for the product myself. My drive arrived with v5.0.2 firmware (old firmware, current is 5.0.4). I read reviews about needing to update the firmware to get better performance so I carefully followed the Transcend support instructions and every time I tried to download the firmware... my PC froze.
Be careful if you have a Macbook - It may only negotiate at SATA 1 (1.5Gbit/s) speeds

Summary: I bought this to put in my late 2009 macbook (Macbook 6,1). Unfortunately it will only link at SATA 1 speed of 1.5Gbit/s even though my computer is capable of SATA 2 (3Gbit/s) speeds. I exhausted all resources trying to find a fix from the OS side to no avail. Apparently there is an issue with this Sandforce controller (used by multiple SSD manufacturers) and the NVidia MCP79 on my computer (and many other Macs).
Summary: I tried the ssd today. did a testing on reading and writing. It's about 200mb/s read and 164mb/s writing. The advertised speed says 500mbs read and write, I barely got half? What happen, this is sata 3 technology they using. I should of got the OCZ. If anyone there know how i can get increase speed and writing.
Summary: Never bought any Transcend products before and this is the 1st time I bought one. Package came over night shipping and well packaged. The item looked very good. I installed this ssd on my T430s (i7-3520M, 16 GB RAM PC3-12800)with the Factory recovery disks. The install itself took more than 1 hour. After the complete install, The reboot times were quick..but not close to my Crucial M4 128 GB.
