Cons: I bought this SSD in 11/12, at the end of May '14, it suddenly stopped working. So basically is ONLY worked for a year and I half before I lost all my important files. I wanted to call Transcend on this, but there is NO phone number listed on site. I e-mailed them, and they told me to take the is...
Summary: Gave them 4 stars when the drive worked! This was in my desktop PC! I never dropped it or moved the drive My C3 is still running strong this drive DIED in 4 months! Won't even boot up I lost EVERYTHING! Don't trust this brand!
Summary: I received the Transcend TS256GSSD320 (SATA 6gbps, 256gigs) drive on time. This drive did not boot on my ASUS A55A laptop. This laptop does boot the Corsair Neutron 120gb SSD and 2 other 7200rpm HDDs. I tried updating the laptop BIOS (rev 407) and SSD Firmware (5.0.6). It still would not boot.
Summary: I installed this in my computer recently. I originally had two hard drives, but both of them fit within 256GB, so I just 'told' the included software to 'clone' both drives. The original 'C' drive copied OK, but the other drive caused me problems.
Summary: Would be nice if the manufacturer/seller mentioned this fact. I understand if you update the firmware using a PC you can then get it working with a Mac, but why go through all that trouble; just buy a compatible drive if you have a Mac.
Summary: I have to agree with the "not ready for prime time" reviewer. It's nice that the manufacturer is offering potential solutions to reviews complaining about this defect, but it would be much nicer if those solutions actually worked. I won't be purchasing any more Transcend products.
