Summary: The first one worked so well with a WinXP install that I bought a second one so I could experiment w/a Linux install. Both work fine so far.
Pros: works great in Compaq n620c laptop; fast; uses less power than conventional HD; formats just like a conventional HD; easily recognized & formatted by both WinXP and Linux (Debian 8) install CDs; in use for a few weeks & works great so far
Cons: none so far other than item seems pricey, but, you get what you pay for so hopefully it'll out-last a magnetic media drive

Summary: With 1.2G of RAM and running Win XP, this old laptop is now more responsive and boots faster than my 8-Core i7 running Win7. We use the old Gateway outdoors at dusty MTB race venues to time the races and print results - this drive is perfect for that.
