Summary: The MQ01ABD 1 TB 2.5" Internal Hard Drive is not exceptional in any regard, but provides a lot of storage space for the size and price. I've come to trust Toshiba 2.5 inch drives over many years, and feel comfortable placing valuable data on this one. Note that I ordered a second MQ01ABD drive several days after the first. It's revision number is different and the drive makes significantly more noise than the first. Performance appears identical.
Installation was easy and loading the operating system went flawlessly

Summary: Installation was easy and loading the operating system went flawlessly. But unfortunately that's as far as I can report. The maintenance department came into my apartment and stole my notebook within two days of getting it running again. Had left it on my desk to charge and update and came home after they replaced my refrigerator and it was gone.
Summary: New laptop got messed up after I tried to load the Window 10 test operating system. I bought this as a backup measure in case the original hard drive was beyond recovery. Swapped out the drives and had to use Toshiba's Recovery USB device to get the system restored to "out of the box" condition with this drive. Stock drive was okay and will keep it for a backup now.

Summary: So far so good. I wait several months before posting a review, Since it just wastes every ones time to read how pretty the box was it came in, and you hope it works good when you use it. Stored large and small files. Installed OS's, no problems with anything recognizing. Up and down loads are quick. Put it in an external case, and handles that just fine. Any issues found will get updated here.
Summary: The hard drive stopped working after 3 months I purchased it. It quit booting, not sure other part is still good or not. Contacted the seller and Toshiba. Both of them responded very quickly. I got a replacement after10 days I sent the bad one to Toshiba.
