beware of Toshiba drives that don't sync at 3.0 Gbps
30 July 2012
Summary: These Toshiba drives have a problem syncing at 3.0Gbps like they should, severely hampering performance. Some of them will, some of them won't. I've emailed Toshiba support about the problem, asking for a solution, but they don't respond. Pretty lame. Go with the WD drives instead.
Summary: The only reason why I got the Toshiba is that it was the only one at the time that had at least a 1TB+ hard drive, which I got 2 for so I can edit video on the go without the power cords. I didn't mind it was too thick for a laptop, as I was using it on an external bus powered FW800 enclosure. However, I should've known better. I've had it for months and now that I'm on an intense workload, the disks would eject itself or fail... temporarily.
