Good alternative to getting USB 3.0 support on an older system
26 December 2011
Summary: Just installed this on my son's computer so he can use his new USB 3.0 flash drive. Performance is as expected, and the install was fairly simple. There were 4 mounting holes in the frame, and my computer case only allowed 2 to be used (one on each side). And while the frame does seem a bit flimsy before it is installed, after it is secured in position with the supplied screws (only 2 of the 4 in my situation), it seems firm and solid when inserting the flash drive.
Summary: I got this to install in a slightly older Core i7 system. I had seen a review of it on Legit Reviews. So I had a good idea of how it would work. Well when I got around to buying something. I discovered nothing else was even close in terms of price. It was delivered promptly. And the install went without a hitch. Plus the performance is just what I expected. Which is to say it works great for sequential reads, giving a very fast transfer rate.
