My drives are going strong....

Summary: Best of luck to you guys!
Pros: I have had no issues with my drive. Been going strong for more then a year. People are experiencing a click noise issue with recommendations on the Dell website to update the firmware. I didn't do so because I don't have those issues. I also just bought another drive just like it for my other lap...
Cons: None really. I think that they firmware issues are probably fixed and that I should be fine. If you getting the clicking noise issue then update the firmware for it and that will fix the controller on the drive and hopefully straiten out the head.
Cons: I bought a new dell laptop less than a year ago and it came with this hard drive. After less than 3 months it died. Dell replaced with a new hard drive of the same ST9500420ASG model number. The replacement has lasted 9 months and is now also dead.
Summary: I had this hard drive installed on my HP laptop for a couple months and it recently started making a random clicking noise. Hard drive did not fail, but clicking got more frequent. Sounded like the drive could crash at any moment.
Pros: Good speeds, quiet, cheap
Cons: Clicking developed after a few months of use, not reliable
Summary: I bought this hard drive through Amazon to replace a dying one on my laptop. Installation was simple. It is quieter than the laptop's fan and it is fast. This hard drive rates 5.9 for 'disk data transfer rate' on the Windows Experience Index. I highly recommend it. No problems of any sort.
Summary: Easy of use, Fast and one of the best drives around. Would purchase drives made my Seagate anytime. They are the leader. Nice to have a backup laptop drive. Thinking of Installing Windows7 on it.
Summary: This Seagate Momentus drive, and the other Momentus drives of different sizes, have an incredibly high failure rate. Seagate admits that these Momentus drives are incompatible with any laptop with G-force protection. This drive cost me years of photos of my kids growing up.
Summary: I recently got a Dell Latitude E6400 that uses this drive. It's mostly a quiet drive until it tries to read from a certain section, then it clicks like it's about to fail. If I got a bad drive, I'd just get a failure code and have it replaced.
Summary: Disclaimer: This explains the reason for 3 stars. I bought this for my mid-2009 MacBook Pro and after lots of trial and error, talking with Applecare and Seagate support, I was unable to get the drive to work with that computer.
Summary: Bought from Amazon, received it problem free. Recently installed this disk into my 15" MBP I7. Recent so I can't say much about reliability but so far so good. Installed effortlessly. Can't hear it unless I put my ear to the laptop and even then I'm not sure that I hear it.
