Lasted 2.5 years. Just a year or two shy of acceptable.

Summary: This review is fairly short. The drive was a good price and purchased late december 2011. Today, near july 2014, 2 years and 7 months later, my sister calls me asking me about hard drive replacement because hers is broken. Yes it was placed in a laptop, so more jostling. But the rest of the laptop has lasted for this drive and another before, so it is not so great that this guy died. I'd give it 2.5 stars, but that is not an option.
Summary: This failed in a notebook from Dell. Failed about 15months into use. Never took any impact or damage, the Notebook was 'loved'. ease of use, well, it came installed. Reliability, I will stick with other brands (Western Digital seems to hold up better) I will replace my Dell notebook with the Western Digital product to get it up and running again. This is my first product review.
Summary: I don't know if my unit is defective but I am sending it back now. The hard drive was installed in a 13" Macbook PRO to replace the original hard drive (5400rpm 250gb). The speed improvement was not noticeable and the vibration created by the new hard drive is just unacceptable. I will try the 320gb WD scorpio Black.
Summary: I bought this drive a few weeks ago at a local store because i had an immediate need and couldn't wait for shipping. I've had it installed in my late 2008 MacBook Pro and it's showing signs of imminent failure. The platter freezes every few minutes when it needs to spin up and making some very odd and loud noises. Fortunately I have everything backed up. This puppy is getting returned.
Summary: I installed this in a MacBook Pro 15" and it went in fine and everything seems to be working, except I can feel a really noticeable vibration under my hands as I type this. I don't think I am ok with that, so I will probably remove it and return it and put the old drive back in. UPDATE: Fidgeted with the drive - reinstalled and tried to do it "perfect" and the vibration is less although still there. It just might be livable - so I am going with it.
Summary: I installed this in my Macbook pro. It makes noticably louder noise than the stock HD. But most annoyingly, it makes the whole computer slightly vibrate. And yes, I installed it correctly with the rubber gaskets in the right place and all. Popped the stock HD back in, and it is nice and quiet again. Returning this HD - I dont care how fast it is, i can barely type with its crazy vibrations!
Summary: I'm a little worried about this HD. I bought this 7,200 rpm as in the past I've found they boot faster than 5,400 rpm drives. This drive boots SLOWER! I'm also disturbed by the label that states "If removed guarantee voided" The label covers the drive specification!!!! and does not have makers name or logo on it. I can't believe this label was applied by the maker.
