Summary: Bought a refurbished 2007 Dell Vostro 1700. Lo and behold it had an empty slot for a spare hard drive! Dos drives, WOW! I had to fill that slot so I shopped around and found the twin to the one that already occupied the first drive bay. Works like a charm. I store some big file there, most notably full system image backups and massive chess game databases that total almost 20,000,000 chess games.
Summary: I re-installed Win7 Pro from a previous bad hard drive. It worked like new and was very fast; a cold boot took about 30 seconds. How long this will last, I'll never know. I repaired a broken laptop with this and immediately sold it to a well-pleased buyer.
Summary: I'd a broken laptop drive earlier and purchased this as a replacement. It worked like a charm. No issues so far. I liked the packaging it came up with - easy to open and fast. Thanks to Amazon prime.
Summary: I had heard the speed difference was pretty substantial, but I was floored when I installed this drive. Literally breathed new life into my 7 year old macbook pro. With these speeds it's hard to see why someone would go and spend another $200 on a true SSD. The one fear I had was installation of the new drive, but that was easy too.
