Cons: Drive failed 2 months after warranty period. Lost all my my data that wasn't backed up. This is the first drive failure I've ever had and a 2 year lifespan is not long enough for me to consider this a quality product
Summary: Drive randomly disconnects disappearing from Windows Disk Management et al. Tried in two different PC's (Win 7 and Win 10.1). Tried 6 different Sata cables. Tried two different USB HDD docks and a USB to Sata cable.
Summary: It is very obvious Newegg is in financial problems they cannot properly staff the customer service desk. I am going elsewhere because I am not sure of any warranty survival.
Pros: Good Product lousy service! Not Segate but it is there problem because of there retailer.
Cons: CS Team: Thank you for contacting the Newegg Customer Service Chat Team. CS Team CS Team: Your reference number for this chat session is 1070691 CS Team CS Team: We will be with you in a moment. undefined CS Team: Estimated wait time is 3 hours 3 minutes 28 seconds I have to switch vendors, my ma...
Summary: Not blaming Newegg's shipping for this. Their packaging has improved since the last time I bought OEM drives from them. Now their OEM drives are tightly packed in individual boxes. At least Newegg's extended holiday return policy is great.
Pros: Great price during Black Friday 2015?
Cons: - 2 drives both DOA out of the box. The drives tried to spin up, made some unusual sound, and fell silent. - Both drives were from the same batch. Made in Thailand. - I'm not trusting any data to these drives given their sad state - returning, not getting replacements. - Worst multi-drive purchas...
Summary: Bought one of these, probably from a different store or on a different account. It lasted just over a year. We RMA the failed drive which could not be formatted and received a "recertified" unit which also cannot be formatted.
Pros: It worked for a while. I learned my lesson about the reliability soon enough to cancel another order.
Cons: Reliability (Lack thereof) Support (Lack thereof)
Summary: Don't buy a 2 year warranty drive as everyone else says. My drives failed 2 years and 5 months into it, and that was also without constant use. I have many other brand drives for over 5 years, and these are the first drives to fail on me that were not broken when they arrived to me.
Pros: Large space. Worked great until the first bad sector showed up.
Cons: Bought 2 drives from newegg 5/19/2013 and 6/2/2013. On 10/7/2015 I received a noticed from my NAS that there were bad sectors on the older drive. I ran a quick and extended SMART test, which showed errors. I took out the drive and purchased a different brand 4 TB. During the rebuild of the RAID 1...
Summary: I hope Seagate Support can help me recover my data.
Pros: 4TB, SATA 6gb. The HD worked as expected. Not an issue to report until...see Cons.
Cons: Out of the blue, this hard drive crashed on me. I think I lost all the data on it. Only had this drive for 5 months (purchased in May 2015) and the drive suddenly crashed. I very disappointed and I have to complain. I'm pretty upset about this, mainly due to the data I lost!!!
Summary: I've always liked seagate drives and this one I purchased because it's wasn't going to be used that much so I wasn't concerned about the 2 year warranty. They must have a timer in these things. From someone in the business of IT, always purchase a 5 year drive. They are made far better!
Pros: Price, size
Cons: Less than 80 run time on this drive, Used mainly for large system backups and restores via a external enclosure. Drive barely used and now its done.
Pros: None, why you ask. If the drives are not reliable there can be no measurable quality. I am tech savvy and IT is my living. I have never ever had a drive fail until I bought Seagate. 1 drive FAILED in under 1 year. I now have 2 more failed right after warranty. Very disappointed. I paid almost 100...
Cons: Poor quality. Poor warranty. I am sorry I have to complain. Additionally I received a remanufactured drive as a Replacement what? I didn't buy remanufactured drives. Let's see if Seagate gets in touch.
