Summary: YET ANOTHER UPDATE: EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Seagate called me today. They're swapping out my 1.5 TB drives for new 2GB Constellations on an advanced replacement basis. All I have to pay is shipping!
Summary: I purchase 4 of these drives over the period of a month. They all have under 100 hrs of use and only one is still operational with substantial errors and warnings from the S.M.A.R.T diagnostics on the drive.
Summary: I had 3 of these disks on a Windows 7 System setup in a Dynamic Spanned configuration before I started to have problems. I wasn't running anything to watch the disk because I didn't realize they would start failing so quickly.
Seagate too cocky to admit significance of their 7200.11 firmware issue.

Summary: At the time of writing, I have around 16 x 7200.11 drives... of which 9 are the 1.5TB ones (all of which are running the latest firmware, CC1H). The 1.5TB ones are running in RAID 6 on a quality RAID controller (3ware 9650SE-24M8) and every few weeks, one of the drives goes into DEGRADED mode.
Summary: I just replaced my 2nd 1tb drive, both turned out to be the .11. I know this now b/c on the latest RMA which i'm packaging right now, the Seagate rep offered to change it to a .12 on the return.
Seagate 1.5Tb drive is a clunker - dead after 5 months

Summary: I bought my Seagate 1.5 Tb Barracuda SATA drive in February, having been very happy with my other Seagate Barracuda 1 Tb drives. But this drive has only been installed and working for less than 5 months before it failed on me. What a piece of junk! Rob

Summary: If you do NOT value your time, money or data - then I highly recommend this drive. For everyone else - STAY AWAY! As I said in the title, I truly wish I could give this drive 0 stars, and 0 stars for Seagate's support procedures, too (emphasis on procedures - I have nothing against their support...
Summary: I bought two and sure enough...problems...with both. (problem also hit me with some 1TB seagates but I thought for sure it would have been resolved for the 1.5TBs...no) Tried moving them to external USB cases after internal install had issues; did firmware updates as well..
Even after the firmware upgrade they're nothing but problems.

Summary: I bought 18 of these and I wish I hadn't. Of the 18, two didn't even accept the firmware update and had to be swapped... of the remaining, two couldn't make it through a format and no longer respond, and three keep dropping out of raid configurations... they work for a while, then they quit.
