Summary: This is a good, large-capacity hard drive for use in NAS (Network Attached Storage) scenarios. I have this drive in a Windows Home Server machine that runs 24/7. The 3TB capacity is great for this situation, and its 64MB cache helps for faster cached reads as well. I serve videos to a Media PC from this drive, and so far no problems. Seagate tends to have questionable reliability, so I am cautious with my rating.
Why you need a NAS...but probably not this one REVISED
