Summary: Failed after 2 monmths of light use as a single storage drive. Never had a drive fail so fast. First time in 20 years with Segate - May go back to WD which I have used for years ... Waiting on replacement - but lost my entire media collection.. NOT HAPPY !
Summary: This unit was purchased for use in an external 4=bay enclosure. It has performed to the standard I have come to expect from Seagate. The price was lower than all the standard electronics/computer hardware sites (Newegg, Tiger Direct, etc.), and came in good packaging for protection. I am well satisfied with this purchase.
I cannot tell if it is my NAS (synology diskstation) ...

Summary: I cannot tell if it is my NAS (synology diskstation) or these drives, but the system is DOG SLOW. i don't really care as it's more warm storage for me and my family. They're large, they are quiet, and they don't give off too much heat. How far we have come with technology, eh? would buy again, for the exact same reasons i bought them this time. I'd never use this in anything but a server - but i boot from SSD, so what do i know.
Summary: I ordered 2 of these disks for a Qnap Nas and 2 of WD Red for another Qnap Nas. Both 269 Pro Nases. 1 of the nases didn't work. I filed a claim to QNAP. After some time, with the help of the QNAP support technician, we determined that one of these Seagate HDD was the problem. The hdd was dead and arrived DOA. Finally I did not notice that a month had passed by, since the order. So I lost any right to make a claim.
Summary: Out-of-box failure. Threw in Synology NAS to repair RAID 5 array, only to have boot failure. Finally pulled the drive and NAS booted in degraded mode. Checked out drive with SeaTools and a ton of bad sectors found. May have just gotten unlucky, but be sure to to test prior to adding to the volume in order to avoid the near heart attack I had when the NAS would't boot. Always had uneventful rebuilds previously.
