Summary: - i was looking for an archival drive something that does not need to run 24/7 but can handle daily backups and function in a raid - this drive seems to be unstable for now - I will stick with enterprise drive and standard desktop drives - if i need a desktop drive to use in a raid i will use HSGT...
Pros: - i have no pros about this drive
Cons: - both windows and linux can access the drive after 30 minutes of use in the linux server it shuts off like someone pulled the power cord (supermicro mb with up to date bios firmware and intel e3 cpu ecc ram) honestly my filesystem saved my data from getting corrupted on the other running drives ...
Summary: Very disappointed in the quality control of today's drives, looking at most reviews from Seagate and WD, looks like they both have around a 25% failure rate. Good thing I copied my data to this drive instead of moving it.
Pros: Ran great as a data storage drive next to my SSD
Cons: Bought 2, both died after 3 months of normal use. I would not use this in a NAS for other than a spare drive where it sits there doing nothing. Not going to bother with RMA, just going to dispose.
Cons: I thought this would be great for the price. I build my computer set everything up, and was ready to install windows only to see that my hard drive was not found. I shutdown checked all connections no problems there. I rebooted same thing. I then figured maybe a bad sata cable. Nope tried three d...

Cons: SMART Data revealed increasing Read/Write Errors and Seek Errors on both drives purchased. Contacted manufacturer and inquired as to acceptable limits on Smart Data Fields 1, and 7 respectively. Was told the data was confidential, and that I should run Seatools to verify drive functionality befor...
Summary: Great RMA Service, contacted Newegg, provided RMA info in a few minutes via email and I sent it back. Decided to purchase a different brand - WD. It worked right out of the box with no issues.
Pros: Not much for product Newegg was great for resolving issue
Cons: Failed upon install, it was recognized by Windows 8.1 but said RAW. After two failed attempts at format, finally formatted. Then I tried to use the disk and Windows detected bad sectors and such. Sent back
