Summary: My OS drive is an SSD, but I keep all my games installed on a separate mechanical drive which is what this is for. To that end, it works perfectly, no sacrificing space to squeeze my games onto an SSD, while still having some flash boost. Granted it's "normal" speed the first time data loads, but given the repetitious nature of accessing game data over a long play session, I think it works pretty well.
Pros: - Fast & quiet.
Cons: - Would have been nice to have more than 8GB of flash memory.
Summary: My boot time on a 1tb 7200rpm seagate used to be almost 4 minutes. Now it's 90 seconds so that make me very happy. Disappointed to know though that while booting time is vastly improved, overall performance is not. It just becomes a 7200rpm drive after boot. So if looking for overall performance increase, don't waste your money.
Summary: I purchased this drive to replace my WD Cavier Green 1.5T drive. Did a clean install of WIN 7 64bit. I've noticed no appreciable change in boot time. Windows Experience Index with the WD drive was: 7.5, 7.5, 6.8, 6.8 and 5.9 for the WD drive, with the Seagate it's 7.5, 7.5, 6.8, 6.8 and 5.9! I wasn't expecting much but this is much less.
A nice little boost if you can't afford a full SSD

Summary: I have noticed an improvement in load times for startup, shut down and frequent apps. Everything else, you won't be too surprised but if you can't afford an SSD and want a little improvement, this is a great choice since the spindle speed is 7200 RPMs.
