Summary: So far so good. Didnt notice a giant speed increase and seems to have steadied out as far as increasing boot times. It fires uop your most used programs quickly towards the beginning but i think as you start using it the 8g of ssd becomes more clogged slowing it down a bit so then your back to having a 7200rpm HD. However for the price it did make me give it 4 stars because it has plenty of storage for what iu neeed and did somewhat increase speeds.
Best combo of Solid-State Drive (SSD) combined with huge storage capacity at a low price point.

Summary: You want a large amount of storage (2TB) but you also yearn for the benefits of Solid-State NAND flash ram. You want a SEAGATE HYBRID hard disk. I have bought 10 of these for business use - they are reliable and quiet and FAST. Highly recommended.
Summary: I tend to wait quite a while before I review anything just because there's always a honeymoon period and the same goes for this one...... This is a damn good HDD don't be fooled by the Hybrid nonsense it's not an SSD but it's fast reliable and cost effective and in the end that's all we can really all for.

Summary: I've replaced my HDD with another HDD before and I tried to clone from my current HDD to this and it would not boot. I had to do a fresh install of the OS and then copy everything over and reinstall everything. It may be cleaner that way, but when you don't have everything handy it is much easier to clone. Other than that, this works well and is a great replacement for my old 2TB drive which was getting quite loud.
Summary: For the price? Wow. This boots almost as quickly as my 100% SSD drive on another machine, and on Windows 8.1 the system boots in less than 10 seconds (after removing the 3 second BIOS delay.) It's UEFI-ready, which may cause some issues for clean installs of Windows, but I'm no expert. Once we got past the hiccups, it was fast and awesome. Right now it's on a gaming rig, and the dozens of gigs of Steam games we've installed all load very quickly.
Are these new or reconditioned/used? Came in barebones brown box.

Summary: the drives came in a plain brown box in static bag without any cables or anything. i'll rely for now on the other comments as for speed etc, but i'm wondering if these truly are new or if they're used or reconditioned. i didn't see anywhere in the description that these weren't retail packaging. this info needs to be in the product description. when you get a plain brown box and you're not expecting it, you have to wonder. i don't remember it saying oem anywhere.
