Summary: Oddly enough this drive performs worse than a standard WD I used it to replace. I benchmarked it with a couple of benchmarks including Crystal Disk Mark. I needed the larger drive and it wasn't worth the hassle to return it so I kept it.
Summary: This drive shines under the right conditions but not all. The ideal application for this is a laptop with (a) a single drive slot available (b) an SSD too expensive or unavailable for the storage requirements (c) use of a single operating system on the laptop by the same user all the time with fairly predictable usage (d) not much multitasking especially accessing large files. (e) no frequent whole disk backups.
Summary: When I bought this SSHD I did not expect an SSD performance "even though seagate website claims that it has same performance as an SSD" but i was expecting more of a superior improvement from the 1TB 5400 RPM WD drive that I had but the improvement is technically minimal most of the time, this hard drive has an adaptive memory meaning that the hard drive will move the apps you use the most to the flash memory for quicker access and that actually is a good thing when it...
Hesitant from neg. reviews. Bought anyways. After some work, it now seems to function correctly

Summary: I have been using this drive for about a month now, and just now today seem to have ironed out all the quirks and kinks. My first mistake was to assume that since this drive's been out for a while that all the negative reviews and accompanying solutions had already been implemented by Seagate. I was wrong apparently.
Summary: I bought this drive to replace the older 500gb model I had in my MacBook pro. Everything was fine for a few weeks then I started getting applications crashing at random. Safari at first then other apps, mail etc. this started to increase from once a week to every other hour or so. I then got os/x system halted errors, I check the drive with several tools all seemed to be fine inspite of the increased errors.
Summary: The first one I received started to develop a click and chirp noise along with freezing my laptop basically from the moment I installed it. If it didn't chirp then it worked great. I didn't even have it as my boot drive just had a few gigs on it before it became virtually unusable. Seagate diagnostics showed the disk as defective.
Summary: Seagate now sells hybrid drives with 8GB flash and 6Gb/s compared with 4GB flash and 3Gb/s for these. Search for ST750LX003. Faster SATA is of no value if not supported by the PC, but doubling solid state storage should help.
Great concept, but potentially buggy implementation - caution advised for Macbook users

Summary: I have the 500GB version of this drive, on a 2010 MacbookPro 17" (MacbookPro6,1). When I bought it (about a week ago) I was looking forward to writing a positive review and posting the times I clocked for system boot-up, etc., before and after putting this drive in. Sadly, this my review is going to have to take another angle entirely. >> NOISES << I noticed this drive making noises.
