Summary: This is the problem: buffering. Sure, you've got this SSD section to work from, but putting the information on that portion of the drive apparently takes FOREVER.
Pros: It's bigger than what I had before. Once information is buffered, it runs decently.
Cons: This hybrid technology is totally bogus. I have used this drive for DJing with Ableton Live and video editing with Adobe Premiere and Vegas.
Cons: Unstable. After 4 months' moderate usage, the hard drive lost my extended partition completely. I tried to format it, but the very end block became inaccessible. I did...
Cons: The drive is 9.5 mm thick so it will not work in laptops with "thin" (7 mm) such as the Lenovo x220. I wish I would have known this prior to ordering it. Now I have a ...

Cons: OK so who's protecting the consumer like us?
Summary: This is not a mac friendly drive. I spent 2 weeks looking over apple reviews and tutorials to try to find information on making this drive work for me. No luck.
Summary: My initial experience with the ST750LX003 model of the Momentus XT was positive. It replaced a dead 500GB 5400rpm drive in my 15" MacBook Pro.
Summary: The drive will cause an error if you attempt to enable FileVault 2. However, you will then also be unable to revert to FileVault 2 being completely disabled.
Pros: Fantastic speed improvements over the 5400 rpm drive that shipped (and died) with my MacBook Pro.
Cons: The major con with this product is the lack of compatibility with FileVault 2 on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Whole disk encryption is a requirement ...
After a week, my hard drive has started squealing.

Summary: Well, this can't be good. After a week of use, my hard drive has begun squealing. It seems to only happen when it's doing heavy read/write work, but it's worrying...
