Wrong model, bad pachage!

MITCHELL CHIRE, Amazon
2 November 2013
  • Summary: I bought 17 units. They sent me a wrong part number: ST9500420AS instead of ST9500423AS. The ST9500420AS is an old model with diferente specifications. I was charged with US$ 5.95 for the shpping for every hard disk and I expected for a great package.

Hard Drive Failed Twice

Barney J., Amazon
26 October 2013
  • Summary: I bought this drive 4 months ago. It failed within a few weeks, but I reformatted and thought it was a fluke. Should have returned it then. It just failed again, big time. Out of warranty, so I have to buy a new drive.

This doesn't work easily with Macs

Stephen P. Hale, Amazon
17 July 2011
  • Summary: Look up trouble with Seagate drives and Macbooks. It's a real problem. Buy some other brand, like a Hitachi or Western Digital. Don't buy this for your Mac. You can make it work (eventually), but it's a major pain, when normally replacing a Hard drive on a mac is SUPER easy. -Stephen

Jony760, Amazon

  • Summary: My Dell Inspiron 13's original HDD was a Western Digital 250GB 5400RPM/8MB Buffer which was really quiet but needed replacement. I bought this at Dell.com and was branded on that website as Dell 250GB 7200RPM/16MB Buffer with Free Fall.

Failing within 2nd day of use. Total failure within 3 days use.

Andrew Nuse, Amazon
17 July 2011
  • Summary: I'm sorry Seagate, but you messed this one up big time. I've done all I could've done, and within half a week of use it's making a high pitched whine and clunking (aka searching for a sector and can't find it, and resetting.
