Take caution on some laptops - they overheat the HDD

Summary: I purchased this as a replacement for a clients dead WD HDD. I purchased the Seagate model with the same specs as the original - 250 GB, except this one is faster. I had no problems except for when re-installing and updating. Seems like the drive was overheating and producing a BSOD. I've worked on Sony VAIO notebooks like this; this one was an HP G60. So I just put on my Antec notebook cooler, problem solved. I'd try this again if I needed a smaller drive.
Summary: I recently got a Dell Latitude E6400 that uses this drive. It's mostly a quiet drive until it tries to read from a certain section, then it clicks like it's about to fail. If I got a bad drive, I'd just get a failure code and have it replaced. Only problem is, the drive comes back as good and there are no adverse affects on windows that would normally occur if the drive was about to die (blue screens, lock ups, computer seizing up momentarily every now and then).
Summary: I bought this drive a few months ago and about a week after installed it started to make a noise that sounds like a bunch of marbles are loose inside my MacMini. It also makes beeping noises here and there...The noises are starting to become more prevalent so I went to Seagates site to have it swapped out...they want to charge me 19.99 in order to send me out one first so that way there isn't any down time...What a crock!..
Summary: I am reviewing the 250GB ST9250410ASG. I just got a new laptop with this drive and it is incredibly noisy (click, click, click). I am not sure if this is normal for this drive or if it going to fail early. At any rate, it is annoying and I will be backing up often.
Summary: Have it installed on my Macbook 13". PROS: As quiet as the Seagate 60GB 5400 RPM the Macbook came with, faster, low energy consumption (wonder if it's not even lower than the previous. My battery gives me up to 4hrs..). Big storage capacity as opposed to the 60GB I had before. Haven't monitored the read/write differences yet but... CONS: Did not come with the metal cover the previous Seagate had (lost, not shipped, not included?
Summary: This is the biggest & Fastest laptop drive on the market. Setup was a simple. The only way to get faster is with a Solid State Drive. But SSDs don't come in 500GB (yet). I've always used Hitachi 7200RPM notebook drives, but Seagate was first to release the 500GB model. Now I can travel with my entire MP3 collection. Highly recommended.
