  • Summary: I use this for my PS3 and this has given me all the additional storage I needed. I originally had a 60GB backwards compatible system so this was a terrific upgrade. Highly recommended!

Seagate Momentus 7200 750 GB / 2.5 inch hard drive

Don Huffman "TheCircleDancer", Amazon
26 January 2014
  • Summary: This hard drive runs like a stripped-ass-ape. I love this HD. First: I am not a gamer so those game player issues do not apply to me. Find a gamer review. And do not drop your computer... I want speed, size, and simplicity. I wanted to install my own, first hard drive failure I have gone through.

  • Summary: Had this for over a year, it's been a good primary drive for my laptop. I plan on using it a while longer. Read/write times are on par with my desktop drives with same specs.

User Review

ShaTR, NCIX.com
17 June 2013
  • Summary: Pulled a smaller 7200rpm drive out of an enclosure to use in a system as a boot drive, replaced it with this. don't need random access in a usb drive, this was an obvious choice. big, quiet, low power, fast sequentials, exactly what i needed.
  • Pros: cheap, slim (7mm), 500gb, good sequential speeds, low power usage
  • Cons: only 5400rpm

Reliable, speedy 2.5" Drive

James K, Amazon
16 June 2013
  • Summary: I have quite a few of these (about 16) and so far have not had any failures (some are 3 years old). If you don't have a need for the speed of SSDs or want to spend as much money as they cost, these are a good low-cost alternative.

Proceed With Caution

Kevin B., Amazon
29 May 2013
  • Summary: Seagate is one of the best brands out there so I don’t need to waste time with that. This hard drive was bought as a replacement for my laptop to increase capacity while maintaining the 7200 rpm speed. Seagate made the transfer fairly easy with their down-loadable clone software “Seagate DiskWizard.” The clone went surprisingly smooth except for one issue. The Windows Update stopped working on my Vista64 operating system (apparently indexing won’t work either).
