Tried, True and Peace of Mind with Data Storage

Summary: The Seagate are all we use in our data center. We ordered 10, following another order of 10 about a year ago - this was not to replace Seagates originally purchased. When we created our cluster we ended up with drives by other manufacturers, and we had failure on occasion with those.

Summary: Even though it's listed as "new" it doesn't come with the full Seagate-backed five-year warranty. The drive has a Dell sticker and Seagate's warranty lookup says it's an OEM "component" part. I returned it.
Summary: I bought four of these to use in an n-1 redundancy scheme in a Synology NAS. Read/Write times are very good (Can't speak to the read speeds off the top of my head but writes top out at 40MBps (That's Bytes, not bits) over gigabit LAN. Had these for over a year and not one problem.
Seagate Constellation Drives are great for RAID use.

Summary: I have recently built four new computers with these drives. I have had ZERO problems with the drives and I love the 5 year warranty and the much longer rated life. I have four in one RAID5 setup, and six more in RAID1 mode. So far nothing but good service.
Summary: Not sure about the drive performance, but one thing is for sure - this drive is noisy. It has that constant whirr noise that can become quite annoying - particularly as the previous one I had was super quite.
