Summary: Even though it's listed as "new" it doesn't come with the full Seagate-backed five-year warranty. The drive has a Dell sticker and Seagate's warranty lookup says it's an OEM "component" part. I returned it.
Summary: I bought four of these to use in an n-1 redundancy scheme in a Synology NAS. Read/Write times are very good (Can't speak to the read speeds off the top of my head but writes top out at 40MBps (That's Bytes, not bits) over gigabit LAN. Had these for over a year and not one problem. Tip to anybody doing these, space out when you buy the hard disks, and perhaps get them from multiple suppliers and multiple brands. If I could do it again I would do this.
Seagate Constellation Drives are great for RAID use.

Summary: I have recently built four new computers with these drives. I have had ZERO problems with the drives and I love the 5 year warranty and the much longer rated life. I have four in one RAID5 setup, and six more in RAID1 mode. So far nothing but good service. A Note: Be SURE to check that the unit you are getting has the 5 year warranty. I think this only applies to USA sold/used units from real Seagate distributors.
Summary: Not sure about the drive performance, but one thing is for sure - this drive is noisy. It has that constant whirr noise that can become quite annoying - particularly as the previous one I had was super quite.
Summary: Quick delivery and wel packed. I installed them into my raid and they are fast.. fast... fast! would certainly recommend this product for anyone building a raid, You should try using Datoptic Raid with this product. its fast and efficient!
