Summary: I was reading the reviews for this drive and I was shocked to say the least. I bought mine at walmart for around 65 bucks as part of a seagate external backup. The housing for the backup overheated and failed after about a year so I removed the drive from the housing and installed it in my system as a backup drive to my ssd. I guess I got a good one because it has been perfect. I have never heard it make a sound at all.. ever.
Summary: This drive was delivered promptly and is a replacementdrive for my NAS. It formatted without a problem and hopefully I will never need it, but if I do I am confident that it will work just fine.
Summary: I bought this drive for my file server at my home office. The capacity is 1TB, but it is 1000 GB, not 1024 GB. The different really does not matter for my requirements. I'm running Linux (Fedora 15) with this drive, and I am happy with the performance. Some review said that the drive is bit noisy, and they may be true, but the noise does not bother me much either. For the price I paid, it is a good drive.
Terrific drive, ample space (for now), at a great price.

Summary: I found this drive to be as quiet a drive as any I've had. When they say a 'Bare Drive' they mean it. But having said that the drive performs flawlessly. I had to purchase a separate SATA data and power cable which I found on Amazon at a very fair price. It also came in a 'Frustration-Free Packaging' box. No complaints here just a concern. It was so easy to open, the box wasn't even taped shut.
Summary: The best drives at the best price, what more can you ask for. Just be sure to note that these do not come with SATA or power cables, or mounting screws. Also, mine actually came in boxes adorned with the Western Digital WD logo! The product label on the box was Seagate, and they are the correct product, also I assume they are not used or refurbished, but that was an odd thing that I can't really explain.
