Summary: I bought this drive for one reason: I needed to replace a failed hard drive in a low-end network server's RAID, and this drive is identical to the still working drive (as well as to the one that failed). Predictably enough, the drive works well, and the server's performance is back to normal. Given the age of the server, I'd say that the performance is about as good as it can be, but that has more to do with the RAID controller than the drives attached to it.
Summary: We ordered 25 Dell PowerEdge T310 servers, each with 3 of these in them. Within a 2 year period we had 80% failure across the board due to bad sectors or various read/write errors. Each set of 3 were controlled by a Perc H300 controller card with updated firmware and were all tested good. Just my 2 cents regarding this drive so take it for what its worth to your situation.
