Summary: Bought this in May and now it is dead in November. I bought it because it was identical to my factory original. Worked fine until the last few days when i noticed a slight noise when it was running. Two hard drive failures in six months is hard to take.
Summary: This hard drive came with my new computer and it is now toast after 3.5 years. I started getting the click of death about a month ago. I backed up my data and bought a Western Digital Blue 1 TB drive to replace it. It did not last too long after the 3 year warranty.
Summary: Great warranty service, which I have used twice now. I bought two of these drives and both failed once. I sent in a warranty claim and they replaced both of them. I would not recommend them as 2 out of 2 have failed. If you do use it, be sure to back up your data.
Of 3 drives one has stopped being recognized in 3 months

Summary: I have purchased 3 drives. They were installed on 3 different computers to support Dropbox application. OS is windowsXP professional. One drive got problems with access after 2 months and it finally stopped being accessed. I have requested replacement and I risk to buy one more. I guess I like gambling.
Summary: I bought two of these drives for using in a RAID 1 array in a Synology DS210j Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. After 6 weeks of operation, one of the drives failed. When the drive went bad, I contacted Synology and told them the errors the NAS was sending me. It indicated the Reallocated Sector Count showed a failing drive and their take on the drive was that it was failing. At any rate, the NAS won't mount the volume.
Summary: I purchased three of these drives. I was hesitant after the problems with version 11 but after reading a review on how fast there drives were and reading that the version 12 drives were fixed I went ahead. I set up two drives in a RAID 1 and used the third drive as my boot drive. Within 24 hours my PC was slowing down and during boot I was getting a "RAID degraded message". Then the clicking started.
Summary: This is a good disk drive at a fair price, but the packaging is woeful. It came wrapped in 1 layer of bubble wrap and a carboard cover of the same type that Amazon use to send out books. The postman would not have been aware of the fragile nature of the package and he just popped it through my letter box to drop 4 feet onto the floor. Goodness knows what other abuse it was subject to in transit.
