Summary: Although this drive has been discontinued, for those who own this drive, in my opinion it is reliable drive for everyday less intensive usage
Pros: Good OK drive for everyday use.
Cons: I had bought this drive in May 2009 and then this year in June 2013 I started getting continuous pop up error messages from Windows detecting hard disk problem with hdd and it reporting failure. So in short this drive lasted me 4 years with approximately 2000 hrs of usage which in my opinion is v...
Summary: Seems to me if you have a BRAND NEW defective drive they should replace it with a new one. Not a refurbished or "certified repaired". This is especially an issue if you are a reseller or doing a new system build for someone.
Pros: Typically these are good drives. I am sure I have bought no less than 15 Seagate drives in the last 8 months
Cons: This one (as have a few others in the last couple months) arrived Dead and would not recognize in the system at all. My issue is not so much this but when you do an RMA and they send you a "certified repaired" drive as a replacement for a drive that you JUST opened as new.

Other than the vibration and the noise caused by the vibration it seems to be working fine, but due to the vibration and noise I'm...
Summary: First unit was DOA. Got a warranty replacement from Seagate which has been working fine for a few weeks. I thought I was spending $60 for a new hard drive, but ended up paying $70 for a refurb (after shipping original to Seagate -- grrr). Other than that, no complaints.
