Summary: I ordered model number ST3160318AS in new condition. When the hard drive arrived, it was not in an anti-static bag and was wrapped up exposed in bubble wrap. 1 of the 3 mounting holes on both sides showed evidence of having screws inserted and removed, so I'm guessing this hard drive is a used one. The model number on the large original sticker is ST3160813AS. The model number on a smaller sticker is ST3160812AS.
Summary: This hard drive was the featured hard drive in my old Dell computer back in 2003. I removed it and put it in an external enclosure when I bought a new computer in 2006...and have used it ever since. For what it's worth, it has provided me with reliable storage for the past 10 years. No problems at all.
Summary: This item has met my expectations as a replacement item for upgrading my system to keep current with current technology at homes today. I would acquire more of these items to finish up my other systems and neighbors as well. Seagate continues to be a name to compete with or against depending on your perspective. As long as there's power to operate, Seagate will continue to be my choice.
Summary: The only reason I can't give it 5's across the board is that I've only had it several days so I have not tested its warranty or even customer service. It was promptly delivered and worked as advertised. It was easy to set up. I just want to see how it holds up. I would recommend it.
