Happy owner of over 90 Seagate Drives

Anonymous, Newegg
3 October 2015
  • Summary: If you are not a tech person and just need to replace the junk drive you currently own, one of these in any size offered will be good enough. As a note, whenever someone asks me to swap drives for them or "fix their computer" when it is a failed drive, I tell them to buy a seagate drive because I am...
  • Pros: +48TB worth of these drives running 24/7 in one rig for years now and the first (and oldest one) is just starting to fail. (just cloned it last night) I can't be sure exactly how long (because I am not concerned nor do I worry about my seagate drives) but the oldest one (only 1.5 tb) has lasted o...
  • Cons: Reading reviews where people complain that a 4 tb drive is not exactly 4 tb not paying any mind to the fact that the size difference has to do with the difference between the way a HDD manufacturer and the way windows calculates storage capacity and then claiming they have a high level of tech ex...

  • Pros: Just an average hard drive. Works great, no problems with installation.
  • Cons: Isn't an SSD; but hey, what can we do for now.

Thumbs up.

  • Summary: A very popular drive. Most retail chains even stock them. Can't go wrong.
  • Pros: This hard disk comes retail and ready to use. Whisper quiet with classic Seagate construction. An excellent buy for those looking outside of the SSD park.
  • Cons: None at all.

Seagate ST310005N1A1AS-RK 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Retail Kit

Timothy C., Newegg
13 July 2015
  • Summary: The drive has worked great for the first day and is still going. As I said, I would not buy any other than Seagate because I know their drives are of great quality. I recommend any Seagate drive. Also, just because someone may get a bad one doesn't mean that they are all bad drives.
  • Pros: A Seagate drive. I've used Seagate drives for every system that I've ever built and I have yet to have one crash on me, except for one of the upgrade kits that are available at WAL-MART. The main drive is still going. 1 TB. I will most likely add another one of these drives or a higher capacity d...
  • Cons: It's not really a con for me, but the drive arrived sealed and when I opened it there was no Seagate Wizard program disc. The reason why this doesn't affect me is because I can download the program from their website. That was all.

Seems fairly well made.

Jeremy M., Newegg
26 June 2015
  • Summary: Other than than the fact the warranty is weak and it's made in China, it's a decent drive so far. However, if this drive cannot survive at least 5 years I will probably have to switch to a different brand that offers a longer warranty and more reliable product. Until then, It's Seagate only for me.
  • Pros: It's absolutely silent, runs cool and it's extremely fast. When I ordered this drive I wasn't sure if this would be like my other Seagate drives, this one is a little thinner than the traditional 3.5" design, but it's not ultra thin. That was a huge concern because those ultra thin drives are wel...
  • Cons: I am not happy that it is made in China, that's a major Con right there. The 2 year warranty is not that great either considering that Seagate drives used to come with a 5 year warranty. That says a lot about a company standing behind their products. Hard drives hold very important information, i...

Great Product

GEORGE F., Newegg

  • Summary: I will always recommend Seagate hard drives for any application because in my opinion they are the best drive for the price. I have never had one DOA and have only had to return 1 within the first year.
