Extremely Fast for a Budget SSD

William N., Newegg
  • Summary: This SSD comes with a buffer of much faster SLC NAND. The size of the buffer is 10GB and up, depending on the size of drive. This will cause the write speeds to be inflated in speed tests.
  • Pros: Very affordable: Got my 240GB for less than $100. Speeds are great, even on par with some of the higher-end SSDs I have seen (see "Other Thoughts" for speed test results). Warranty is 3 years. There's longer ones out there but I think that it plenty for an SSD. After moderate to heavy use over 8 ...
  • Cons: This is a bare drive; only comes with a riser to fit in a laptop. You will need to already have, or buy, a 3.5 in. to 2.5 in. adapter if you want it in your desktop (I actually have mine just sitting in the bottom of the PC, un-mounted). Since I'm more concerned about performance, I decided to no...

Super Fast

Stefan C., Newegg
23 April 2015
  • Pros: This was my first SSD, bought to replace a dead HDD. I was concerned that the speed might not be close to the rated speed. I bench-marked the drive after cloning my OS and programs over, filling up about 70% of the SSD, and it has read speeds of 470 MBPS an write speeds of 440-450 MBPS most of th...

Fast!!! Good Quality

C L., Newegg
16 April 2015
  • Summary: For a good Quality SSD that will last a while I feel that this is the way to go. Yes it is only 120GB but for a boot drive you shouldn't need anymore than that. But if you are only going to use an SSD I would recommend the 240GB at minimum, if you can fork out the arm and the leg then get the 500GB...
  • Pros: First off I didn't buy this from Newegg (Sorry newegg) I bought it from best buy because they had it on sale for $59.99 at the time I bought it. To start off my computer specs: i7 4700MQ Nvidia 770m 3GB 1Tb SSHD 120GB SSD (This one) So before I had the SSD the HHD that I had in the computer befor...
  • Cons: I don't have any at the moment I have been using this for 2 months now and I have had no speed slow downs. It is still like new

Great SSD

Benjamin W., Newegg
17 March 2015
  • Pros: Very fast. I didn't realize what a difference a SSD made before I got this. Now, I will never go back to a regular HDD. I'm even considering getting a second one to put in a RAID 0 array to double the speed. So far, there haven't been any problems with it.
  • Cons: None so far.

Very good for the price.

Jonathan, Amazon
25 February 2015
  • Summary: Installed into a new build as a boot drive, and has worked without any issues out of the box. I have not benchmarked its read/write speeds, but so far I'm not having issues with it, time-wise. Windows 8.1 boots in less than 10 seconds, and can go through an entire reboot in about 30.
