Best decision I ever made

K. Grant, Amazon
8 March 2015
  • Summary: I bought this drive as an upgrade for my HTPC.......Best decision I ever made. The system boots in about 8 to 10 secs with Windows 8.1. I load games so fast that I barely get a chance to read the game tips in games like Borderlands 2 or Skyrim.

Sandisk Ultra 128G SSD

Gary R., Newegg
25 February 2015
  • Pros: Excellent product, I have been buying Sandisk products for over a decade, have had no failures. This SSD takes an old Dell Latitude D630 and makes it as good or if not better than when it was new. A very good budget SSD.

unreliable

Benjamin B., Newegg
3 February 2015
  • Summary: Wish I had stuck with normal hard drive. Also, use some other type of backup other than What comes with Windows.
  • Pros: Fast and light
  • Cons: several necessary Windows 7 files were corrupted somehow. Could not run any programs. No utilities could fix it. Could not even restore system from backups. CHKDSK would find no errors, but each time system was booted, Windows would want to run CHKDSK again.

Very fast

Jesse S., Newegg
12 January 2015
  • Summary: If you're demanding of space, consider a couple of the new "Hybrid NAND" tech out, they offer pretty reasonable performance in terms of speed, and i imagine two of them in Raid would be comparable to a SSD.
  • Pros: Very fast, boots Arch Linux in about 5 seconds. pretty impressive. This is the first SSD I have owned, and i'm not into comparing 40 other brands of SSD's to get the absoloute fasted, bottom line is, flash is faster than physical, sof or the price, you really can't go wrong. stays pretty cool, ar...
  • Cons: Unfortunate that its so expensive to get an SSD with a ton of space, understandable though. Not a con of this specific drive, just SSD's in general

... you won't believe this- You can not get a better performance improvement for less cost

Andy T. Knote, Amazon
21 December 2014
  • Summary: If you haven't upgraded to a SSD you won't believe this- You can not get a better performance improvement for less cost. I installed this drive in an old Core2 Duo with 2gb RAM. I installed WIN 7 from USB in 13 minutes. Boot time to log-in is now 13 seconds.
