  • Summary: This drive lasted a bit more than 6 months. I've NEVER had a drive fail on me, and SSD's are supposed to be more reliable than typical hard drives. The company (dealfisher) has a 90-day return policy. I do not recommend buying anything from this trashy reseller.

  • Summary: First time purchasing Sandisk only went for the 240GB due to the price drop on amazon last week @ $150 but i guess i should of went with my first choice. To late now... fingers crossed it last and I don't see any more bad sectors!? 9.91mm, NOT 9.5mm, firmware needs refresh

  • Summary: get this drive and update the firmware. if used in a desktop, no problems. if used in a laptop, this will NOT fit in a 9.5mm standard bay, not to mention the slim 7mm... i first thought i installed something wrong, but when i looked on sandisk's website, this drive is spec.ed at 9.91mm. WTF? it will leave a slight bulge on many laptop models designed for a typical 9.5mm HDD.

Since I installed this SSD drive in my computer, I am getting blue screen every few days.

  • Summary: Since I installed San Disk SSD, I am getting blue screen every few days. I returned the old disk - no blue screens. So I spend money on defected product which was sold on Black Friday with big discount. Money waste! I was trying to read on forums how to fix the "blue sceens" problem" but found similar frustration and no solution from San Disk SSD user. Hoping to get the issue resolved!

Great product but beware of faulty drive.

  • Summary: I just ordered this SSD to replace a smaller drive as my primary hard drive in a new computer build. After installing Windows on it, I pulled up a temperature diagnostic tool, and the drive reported 128 degrees Celsius. This reading is probably an error, but to be sure I contacted SanDisk. They immediately said it is due to a manufacturing error and the drive should be RMA'd with a possible down time of over 3 weeks.

Your editors have erred in conflating the reviews for these two different products. Readers please note that Sandisk has, after many months, corrected the problems cited in this review, so those complaints are now irrelevant. However, my comments on the corporation's lack of integrity and honesty still stand.

Just worked one month

  • Summary: I installed this SSD into my Dell Latitude D520 laptop running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. Everything was great, fast start and shutdown, fast loading programs. However,just only one moth, the SSD stopped working. I run diagnostic and the computer showed that "can not find the hard drive". I tried to re-seat the drive and still cannot boot. Finally I got a RMA# after called Snadisk support.

  • Summary: Sandisk Management has not been responding to request to fix this Drive. Probably the worst Technical Support for an Electronic Device I have ever expierenced and I spend over $300,000 on Computers & Components per year. I am glad I am only sitting on 5 of these Drives. If you have any sense, buy another Drive. IF YOU WANT A DRIVE THAT IS DEFECTIVE IN THE BOX, BUY IT!!!!!! Useless until promised new Firmware is released to fix TRIM.

Worst Customer Experience

  • Summary: Pros: Fast, Decently Priced Cons: I've had +15 years of building and upgrading my own PC, and +5 years of enterprise data center server experience. So I own two of these things, one 120GB and a new 240GB. I unplug a Raptor HDD and plug in the 240GB and see a puff of smoke coming from the new 240GB Sandisk SSD, well it ends up frying the SATA ports on my Maximus V motherboard and my 2 other SSD's.

Defective and Poor Customer Service from Sandisk

  • Summary: Received and installed a Sandisk Extreme 480G SSD. It is fast, but not as fast as advertised so just be aware. Cannot tell yet if it will give reliable performance, but the early results are not encouraging. The drive is installed in a full size case (Antec 1200) with plenty of fans and no other component is over 30C. The Sandisk reports it is at 128C in both AIDA and Sandisk"s own toolkit.
