Summary: Needed to replace a Segate Baracuda that died. Not as fast, however, it is chugging along and runs very quiet. This was for my Network Backup, I did not have to format or set it up special, just plug it in and boom, my backup software started with no problems.
Summary: The Samsung hard drive I bought was reasonably priced and affordable for most buyers. It was a bare drive. It came in plastic as opposed to the box that a lot would be in. It was new and in the original factory plastic bag. I got it earlier than it was expected. The Cons: It will work fine for most users and I had no problems with it. My next one will have a faster spin speed and a larger cache to make it faster to access data. Other than that, I really liked it.
Summary: Bought 2 of these for a Synology 2-bay NAS (which is always on) and have used them for almost 3 years without issues. Quick and quiet, I only wish I'd bought the 7200rpm version for a little more speed.
Summary: I ordered two of these things for a DNS-321 NAS device. They were both used. One was packed incredibly well; I could have sworn I ordered a brand new barebones drive. The other one wasn't packed well at all. the dirtbag went for a smaller than necessary, cheaper USPS package and there was no room for packing material in the box. The thing is, they both worked flawlessly! These are great drives!
Summary: Bought this to replace a failing Seagate data drive, This this is fast, especially for a 5400RPM. Over a year and it is stable as the first day I got it. The firmware issue seems to be resolved. This is a solid drive and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
The Best Hard Drives (If You Can Still Find Them)!

Summary: Samsung makes (made) the best hard drives. I bought four of these and I use them in BlacX Hard Drive Docking Stations for my revolving backups. Two sit in the Docking Stations while two sit in a fireproof safe. I have an automatic nightly backup running on my machine and I switch the hard drives on a regular basis. This combined with an online backup solution has been keeping my data safe. The quality of these drives has been great. They are fast and economical.
