Slow, but real Steady!

Summary: Needed to replace a Segate Baracuda that died. Not as fast, however, it is chugging along and runs very quiet. This was for my Network Backup, I did not have to format or set it up special, just plug it in and boom, my backup software started with no problems.
Unfortunately, these are no longer the drives they once were.

Summary: Item's a dud. My initial purchase of this HDD (Also a Samsung Spinpoint with the exact same label) worked absolutely perfectly, and 3 years of near nonstop use later as my main HDD, it works fine. However, checking up on customer reviews here, it would seem that these drives are merely rebranded Seagate drives. Within the first two days of using the newer drive, it clicks and lags every time it's accessed.
Fine when I bought it - but has a firmware glitch that can be a killer - I think it has been discontinued

Summary: A Firmware glitch can cause the drive to write bad blocks which will kill your data. There IS a patch - but no way to tell if the patch has been applied - because the patch does not update the reported firmware VERSION !! In order to APPLY the patch - the drive must be located in a non-RAID system as the ONLY drive - then you have to BOOT from a DOS DISK and run the patch.
Summary: The Samsung hard drive I bought was reasonably priced and affordable for most buyers. It was a bare drive. It came in plastic as opposed to the box that a lot would be in. It was new and in the original factory plastic bag. I got it earlier than it was expected. The Cons: It will work fine for most users and I had no problems with it. My next one will have a faster spin speed and a larger cache to make it faster to access data. Other than that, I really liked it.

Summary: This hard drive might have been good. IF it had powered on and actually worked. But none of that happened so I can't say. However, the seller didn't ask any questions and immediately credited my account.
Summary: I bought this drive because it showed up under the 2.5 drives. Nowhere in the description does it give a physical size. I receive the drives and find out they are not at all what I expected or wanted. I have no use for these drives, this description needs to be fixed and they need to be taken out of the 2.5 filter.
Summary: Bought 2 of these for a Synology 2-bay NAS (which is always on) and have used them for almost 3 years without issues. Quick and quiet, I only wish I'd bought the 7200rpm version for a little more speed.
