Fine when I bought it - but has a firmware glitch that can be a killer - I think it has been discontinued

Summary: A Firmware glitch can cause the drive to write bad blocks which will kill your data. There IS a patch - but no way to tell if the patch has been applied - because the patch does not update the reported firmware VERSION !! In order to APPLY the patch - the drive must be located in a non-RAID system as the ONLY drive - then you have to BOOT from a DOS DISK and run the patch.
Summary: The Samsung hard drive I bought was reasonably priced and affordable for most buyers. It was a bare drive. It came in plastic as opposed to the box that a lot would be in. It was new and in the original factory plastic bag. I got it earlier than it was expected. The Cons: It will work fine for most users and I had no problems with it. My next one will have a faster spin speed and a larger cache to make it faster to access data. Other than that, I really liked it.
Summary: I bought this drive because it showed up under the 2.5 drives. Nowhere in the description does it give a physical size. I receive the drives and find out they are not at all what I expected or wanted. I have no use for these drives, this description needs to be fixed and they need to be taken out of the 2.5 filter.
Summary: Bought 2 of these for a Synology 2-bay NAS (which is always on) and have used them for almost 3 years without issues. Quick and quiet, I only wish I'd bought the 7200rpm version for a little more speed.
Summary: I ordered two of these things for a DNS-321 NAS device. They were both used. One was packed incredibly well; I could have sworn I ordered a brand new barebones drive. The other one wasn't packed well at all. the dirtbag went for a smaller than necessary, cheaper USPS package and there was no room for packing material in the box. The thing is, they both worked flawlessly! These are great drives!
Summary: I bought this because I already have a 1TB in my other computer. I wanted more space for a video project I'm working on. I like the things Samsung has been doing with technology and this is just as great as my first one.
Summary: Bought this to replace a failing Seagate data drive, This this is fast, especially for a 5400RPM. Over a year and it is stable as the first day I got it. The firmware issue seems to be resolved. This is a solid drive and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
Summary: I bought this drive 1.5 years ago and it is just failed on my Qnap 219P+. Very disappointing fortunately it was setup as raid 10. I was not using it heavily occasional laptop backup, etc nothing exotic like video or sound streaming.
