Summary: If you are really worried about "constant spinning" of any hard drive, you can set windows to turn the hard drive off after a certain amount of time in power options. That's been there since at least windows 95.
Pros: This drive is working great for me so far (1 month). The price was excellent, performance seems on par with my WD 250 and noise level is nice and low, which is what I wanted.
Summary: Purchased this hoping to get a larger version of the SP1614N, a 160GB Samsung HD. The 1614N is silent, but this is not. It is *noticeably* louder, with a higher-pitched sound. I'm keeping this, but go to silentpcreview dot com for best recommendations on quiet HDs.

Summary: I found their install software, Ontrack, (and they had a link for it right on the main page which was easy to find unlike previous post implied) but it didn't come in an ISO I could burn to a CD, so I passed on it.
Pros: Drive works great. Have had no problems with it. So far. Very quiet and super fast boot times compared to my old WD drive, which crashed (actually got a SMART error, but still readable, just refuses to boot!) Even included 4 mounting screws!
Cons: No install disk. Not really expected for OEM, but they could have included a direct link to their website for the install software. At least they included a install sheet with a main web link.
