Features

The SP2514N has a formatted capacity of 125 GB per disk. Besides that, it is also compatible with ultra ATA 133. It is built with fluid dynamic bearing spindle motor technology. . The high speed dual DSP (Digital Signal Processor) based architecture also helps to enhance the performance and speed. ATA streaming supports command set for AV data that stream error logging to reduce time delays for system error processing and handle stream errors to enable full error recovery. It also features ATA device configuration overlay that allows a utility program to modify some of the optional commands, modes, and features sets that a device reports as supported in identifying device command response as well as the capacity reported. SilentSeek feature minimizes the mechanical excitation generated by any resonance, virtually eliminating the source of seek acoustic noise. It also features NoiseGuard. In terms of performance, its average seek time is recorded at 8.9 ms and its average latency is recorded at 4.17 ms. Also, its maximum media transfer rate is at 133 MB/sec with drive relay time of 7 s. It measures 25.4 x 101.6 x 146.1 mm in dimension and weighs 657.7 g.

    Samsung increased the internal cache to 8MB which is good for the hard drive. At it's best, the 250GB provides ample space for everything. Partitioning is however recommended if you're considering multiple OSes. Read more
