Summary: I would recommend it to anyone looking for a HDD. I've had bad experience with WD as well as Maxtor, this has been a solid drive so far.
Pros: I bought two of those as open boxed item for $40 over a year ago now, it is still running strong providing plenty of storage for my needs. Stable performance
Cons: Not the fastest, but at this price, who cares. However, it has been getting sort of slow lately with very loud read/write noise on one of the drives (DFT passed, regularly defraged with Perfect Disk).
Summary: prolly my fault for not looking in the admin menu but we learn got lucky had a sata to 4 pin conv from initial build
Pros: good price for its size i own other samsung products(46"dlp hdtv) and have great results
Cons: actual is 233gb which isnt a bigge asin its a added drive but was expecting a little more had to mess around a bit to initialize it and such windows wouldnt auto plop it . uses sata style power connection would suggest buying converter if your psu doesnot have the style connector
Summary: I'm running an M2N32SLI-Deluxe, have a WD740 as my OS drive and a RAID5 setup with 3 of these drives. I guess this is a "luck-of-the-draw" kind of thing. From the other reviews I have been reading it seems like its not a very rare occurance that the drives fail.
Excerpt: I've had this Sata2 hard drive for a while now, and i have been very impressed by several factors which i considered when buying the item. Firstly, the Samsung Spinpoint drives are very silent and can hardly be heard over the system and CPU fan.
Pros: Quiet and Reliable
Cons: Slightly more expensive some other companies
