Summary: Wow -- I knew that storage memory was a bottleneck for computers, but I didn't really understand just how much of a bottleneck until I started running my OSes (Windows 8.1 and Linux) off these SSD drives, so hear my wow and add more wow. I'll still be using the external spinners for backup via USB 3.0 but I'll never have another spinner inside my laptops.
Excerpt: If you're looking to upgrade the old HD to an SSD in a Mac, this is the manufacturer and SSD you want. Caveats: get Trim Enabler and SSD Fan Control. Need more? 23 seconds to boot a 2009 MacBook Pro. Awesome.
Excerpt: Wanted an SSD drive for faster speed on my older (2008) computer. Works with my SATA2 plug. Not as fast as SATA3, but still much faster. Great upgrade. Be sure to by extra SATA cable and converter bracket for 2.5" to 3.5" drive. This thing is tiny!
Summary: Unbelievable!!!! Easy as 1-2-3 to transfer the old drive image onto the new Samsung SSD with the included Samsung kit. It took me no more than 20 minutes to duplicate 70 GB Windows 7 64-bit hard disk image. That includes the time for opening the box for the first SSD in my life. The next boot was Joyful!!! I am in a different league in all Windows 7 64-bit performances - lightening fast. For those into Linux, I installed Mint 17.1 Cinnamon along side Windows 7.
