Excellent SSD

Tony C., Newegg
6 February 2015
  • Summary: This was my first SSD and I couldn't be happier. I have bought several SSD's of different models for my additional PCs and for family members.
  • Pros: 3 years later and still running like brand new. This is a fast, high capacity SSD that I use to run my system OS and my MMORPG's. System boots in 10 seconds or less, in-game loading times are minimal. I'm very pleased with this SSD.
  • Cons: System didn't immediately recognize this drive, but this issue was easy enough to resolve.

slow writes

Christopher B., Newegg
4 February 2015
  • Summary: this thing works, and the lack of noise is great. The migration utility is great. But the write speed is seriously disappointing.
  • Pros: quick reads, silent, reliable
  • Cons: incredibly slow write speeds, far less than advertised. My cheap barracuda writes far faster on both sequential and random, despite being on a slower sata port. And so does my 830.

SSD...what SSD?

Kevin C., Newegg
9 November 2014
  • Pros: Love my two 64GB versions and wish I could have tested this one.
  • Cons: Talk about unfortunate bad luck. I bought as a gift for the non-savvy parents, taking it to them many months after I bought it on sale and received it, only to find when I broke the seals and opened it...there was no SSD inside! Cables, manuals, CD, adapter...check, but that was it. OPEN YOURS ev...

Worked for 19 months

Rich B., Newegg
26 September 2014
  • Summary: Always back up everything, no matter what.
  • Pros: I switched over from a traditional hard disk to an SSD and I shaved over a minute off my boot time, not to mention the massive speed-up from those first-time loads of software. I love, love, loved this SSD. The free Samsung Data Migration software available online was also very easy to use and ef...
  • Cons: The only downside is that 19 months later it died. Total bummer. However, it's still under its 3-year warranty so I'm sending it in to Samsung to see if they'll fix/replace it.

  • Summary: Thank goodness for the 3 year warranty, i use this for my ladies computer just annoyed i have to use my backup ssd to install windows for now..
  • Pros: fast 2 years of reliability? easy install
  • Cons: corrupted after 2 years - for the price it doesnt seem like a sound investment. slower than my 128gb m4 crucial. samsung magician software with it seemed buggy blue screened the bajeezus out of me on its final stages of life.
