Great Drive

Robert M., Newegg
8 October 2013
  • Pros: I upgraded to this drive from the OCZ agility 2. This drive gives a noticeable performance boost over that drive. The included Samsung drive cloning software worked for me to get the data from my old SSD to the new one.
  • Cons: I would say the data transfer software worked, but is not great. If you were trying to transfer from a larger drive that wasn't near full it wouldn't work properly. Using Paragon migrate to ssd would work better in that situation.

Pretty sweet

anthony a., Newegg
9 August 2013
  • Pros: Fast migration(used samsungs tool)
  • Cons: Since i was not doing a fresh install of windows I had to use windows drive tools to format the drive. Its no ones fault, so no eggs taken off- just something to be conscious of if you are buying the drive.

Fantastic SATA1/2 SSD

Terry W., Newegg
22 June 2013
  • Pros: As with every Samsung SSD we've purchased for our company, these have had the most amazing track record. So far, 0 failures out of every generation from the 470, 830, 840, and 840 Pro as well as unbelievable compatibility! I've installed them in basically everything we have from an ancient Dell PowerEdge 830 (P4 era) server to proprietary embedded systems, and just about any flavor laptop I've seen. We've also used perhaps a hundred Intel SSD's, Unfortunately, the onl...
  • Cons: NONE... TLC Flash used in these 840 non-Pro SSD's will honestly suffice for anything you ACTUALLY do to it, so don't concern yourself about it. Buy one 2X larger than you think you'll ever need for any given computer and over provision it the 10% Samsung recommends and you're good to go indefinitely.

Link to Current Clone Software

Gregory G., Newegg
26 March 2013
  • Pros: Still so impressed by the speed differential between old laptops, yes 2, with standard hard drive and a SSD.
  • Cons: 1st upgrade was a disaster due to bad software (not updated version). Second was a breeze. Get the most current software.
