Summary: Works and Samsung has good reviews everywhere for speed and long term use. Comes with full size tray, unlike useless half size tray that came with corsair. Samsung also includes data clone software, again, unlike Corsair. It's been a few months now since the hardware change. No problems. Samsung also has ssd management software. I think this gave the computer problems. I restored the os to before and the problem went away.
Absolutely worth the money, a great value, I am sold on SAMSUNG....

Summary: It was a snap to install, I couldn't use the cloning software, or even a docking station, because the new SSD has to have more GB's than the old HDD, so I used the recovery disc's instead, I got a cleaner install and I didn't have to worry about transferring any viruses, and viola brand new computer, so I gave this a 4 star, if only the magician software could clone from and to any size HDD or SSD and filter any hidden viruses, then this product would get 5 stars all day...
Drive is quick, but desktop bracket may not mount correctly.

Summary: If you are planning to mount this into a desktop pc, I suggest that you buy the drive only and also get Silverstone SDP08 3.4 to 2 x 2.5-inch bay converter. The bracket may not have the mounting holes you need for your case.
Good but only if you can get it at the right price

Summary: First of all, the Samsung 840 uses triple-level cell (TLC) memory vs. the multi-level cell (MLC) memory used for almost all other SSDs. So what is the difference between TLC and MLC? With TLC memory, 3 bits of information (8 possible values) are stored per cell instead of the 2 bits (4 possible values) in MLC memory. This might sound better but it also means that the cells are used more and there is less voltage fault tolerance.
Summary: Its a great product, makes a difference for sure. Only snag is you need to buy your own conversion kit/leads if using in a desktop. No biggie, just would have been nice to know at the point of making my purchase. Thanks!
Summary: Having just installed I'm very impressed, installed in an old HP Dc7700 and wanted to share a few things. The supplied data migration software failed for me so I went for a fresh install and copying my files over post install. This is why only 4 stars. The magician software seem good, and the benchmarking very useful.
Summary: Mt first Ssd and to be honest it's a mixed bag. I use this as my windows 7 boot drive, with apps stored also on the drive.. Windows 7 boots so much faster with this drive compare to my 250gb 7200rpm seagate drive . But, for copying big files onto the Ssd, I can't help but feel I'd like more speed.. Part of me thinks I should have opted for maybe a Mushkin Ssd, since the write speed is on par with its 500m± read speed..
Summary: Hardware-wise, I have no complaints about this drive; it is fast and improves boot and load times considerably. However, the provided "Samsung Magician" software gave me a nightmare on initial setup of my PC and Windows. I am unsure if other factors were at play, but every time I applied any optimization facility on Samsung Magician, the OS would crash and no longer boot up. The partition would simply disappear, as if Windows was never installed on it.
