Summary: Survived all my experiences with computer, as growing me learn more and more about computers. This is a pure tank.
Pros: The drive came stock with my HP Pavilion Slimline s3300f in 2007. It has never failed me since then ! It's one of the last thing I still have from this computer (along with the DVD-drive and up until 3 days ago, the CPU) and I can say it's an extremely reliable drive. After all these years, it's ...
Summary: I bought three of these drives in 2006/2007 for my HTPC. Over the years I've replaced everything in the case but the drives. Now after 7-8 years of running 24/7 I'm finally stepping up to 4TB drives. The first was given away and the second is living on in an external case as a portable.
Pros: Reliable, fast, and decent capacity (for the time).
Cons: Noisy, they grind away when reading and writing.
Summary: I have owned two of these for a few years, using them in RAID-0 (stripe). They have been through 3 operating systems and have never had an issue. Now that I finally have a motherboard that can support their throughput they are extremely fast.
Summary: After experiencing recent hard disk issues with a different manufacturer I felt I should put in a belated review for these disks since they have been so reliable for me. I bought 4 of these from newegg 4 years ago tomorrow. I have 3 in a (software) RAID 5 with the 4th one being a hot spare.
Summary: I know lots of people have given a bad review about this HD. Well i doubt it, I've had it for 4 years now and havent had a problem with it. I dont believe it's even noisy, in fact you can barely hear it. In my opinion it a very good HD and very spacious.
Summary: I just wanted to add my positive experience with this hard drive. This drive came with my HP Pavilion Slimline, which is a small enclosure so the computer itself gets rather hot. The hard drive hasn't had a single problem. Of course, I backup the contents to an external drive just to be safe.
