Summary: Samsung are a huge electronics giant- I think they're one of the only manufacturers to make all the components in house. At the time of purchase this was the fastest 1tb drive on the market, and had a good reputation and reviewed well. The problem with reading reviews of a product that's been on the market for less than 1 year is that there's no time for long term testing, and from these 4 dooyoo reviews you can see that 3 of us have had drive failures.
Pros: very fast hard drives and blazingy quick in raid 0
Summary: I purchased this drive for storage only as i use a solid state for the system drive. When formated the drive gives my a total space of around 930GBs as this is due to the formating. The makers like samsung use 1000MB to the GB rather than the operating system of 1024MB. The first drive i used for around a year until i recieve an error message in windows 7 telling me the drive was going to fail.
Avoid like the plague and take this as a reminder to back up ...

Summary: I find the Samsung Spinpoint F1 to be a fast and well perfoming hard drive. The drive noise isnt very noticable unless you seek it out and generally I am pleased with the speed and reliability of the drive. I have done numerous checks using tools on this terabyte hard disk (931 in reality if we count gigibytes) and they have all come back stating that the disk is healthy and in good shape.
Samsung Spinpoint F1 Desktop Class HD103UJ 1 TB: Very reliable cheap and quiet hard drive
6 December 2009
Summary: Ok so harddrives are not exciting and not the easiest to review. However i have three of these (one for my desktop and two for network attached storage) and can recommend it thoroughly. I have had a number of Samsung spinpoint drives previously and they have never failed on me. This drive has been the same and here are a few of the advantages of this drive + A 1Tb drive for £55 is cheap (from Dabs, Scan or eBuyer) + It is very quiet and stays cool + None of my spinpoint...
Samsung Spinpoint F1 Desktop Class HD103UJ 1 TB: Brilliant, huge, fast, quiet, cool
23 November 2009
Summary: I bought this hard drive from ebuyer.com, and it was under £60. Before this i owned a 250 gig Hitachi drive, and a 320 gig Maxtor drive, and so i wanted to dump all these files in one place, and then have room to spare. Installation was easy, the drive was recognised first time in windows, no faf. Its capacity is actually about 930 gig, this is due to differences in specification (1 tera-byte means 1000 giga-byte or 1024 giga-byte).
Summary: It's pretty hard to write an exciting review about a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) so I think we need to keep this one fairly basic. I have two of these because I believe they are that good. You can pick these up for around £60 now, which is as cheap as chips in my book! These drives run quiet and cool. No annoying HDD 'seek' noises from these bad boys. Both mine sit at least 3C to 6C cooler than my other 2 HDD's.
Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1 TB: The first hard drive to ever fail me
23 July 2009
Summary: The Samsung Spinpoint F1 (HD103UJ) is a fast, inexpensive hard drive with a large amount of space, however it really is quite unreliable. When formatted in windows, you are basically left with 931GB, which is obviously quite big. Great for HD content, music and games (no need to uninstall). Mine was whisper quiet and temp of the hard drive never passed 40c.
Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ 1 TB: Inifite storage power, itty bittle living space ;)

Summary: After having a Samsung 160Gb IDE drive die after just a fortnight's use three years ago I vowed not to buy Samsung again. However, after spotting a one terabyte hard-drive for the cost of 750Gb models from Maxtor and Seagate I just couldn't resist. There's not a great deal to say about an internal hard disc, but I guess that saying that it hasn't failed after two months of usage is a positive review ;) The disk is pretty quiet and only audible under heavy seeking.
Excerpt: "...what you pay for. However, Samsung are the forerunners in a rapidly growing initiative to provide good-quality hardware at affordable prices. Let's not forget that other 1TB hard-drives can stretch up into the hundreds without offering any bonuses in terms of speed or reliability. I have never installed a hard-drive prior to buying this, but found the instructions so easy to follow that I was able to do it myself and format it in no time at all. ...
