Very good, reliable drive.

Excerpt: I no longer own it since I gave it to my friend, no issues for him there. His brother also purchases one too. At the time of writing this, the price has gone up due to the 2011 Thailand flood, but in the future when people are reading this it won't matter.
Excerpt: Bought two of these bad boys for RAID0 a year ago. I still have yet to have a problem with these drives at all. They're absolutely solid performers. They're not too loud, they're extremely fast (I'm almost always the first to load into a game), and they're 1TB obviously.
Summary: I have two of these in my Synology DS212J Raid enclosure and bought a third as a brand-new unused matching spare for when Murphy's Law struck and I needed to replace one of the fitted Raid drives. For the last couple of years the third drive has sat untouched in the original packing because after a quick and painless install the pair in the Raid box have functioned perfectly. With any luck the spare will never need to be used.
Summary: The good: A quiet drive when spun up, and quite nippy for a 5400rpm drive. Stays quite cool compared to my Western Digital drives. The bad: Noisy when powering-up and powering-down. Not great for a quiet server The ugly: I own three of these Samsung HD103SI drives, two went into a home server the other into a Windows Media Center PC in the living room.
Summary: Not the fastest delivery I've had from Amazon, but got here safe with good communication from the seller. Only problem is that it came in a clear plastic box,no description on the exterior and the sticker on the drive tells me that it is actually 7400rpm? But it works great in my Thomson Sky HD box 8215 and seems to be cooler and quieter which is what i was after.
