Excerpt: The drive is fast as expected. I could not get the data migration software that came with the drive to install properly. So I tried to uninstall and then re-install, but I could not get the software to uninstall after the failed install attempt. A total PAIN!!! I ended up cloning my mechanical hdd to the SSD using another third party cloning utility. After that, all worked well.
Summary: I did a lot of researching before I purchased this SSD and found it was rated highly on (not giving name of site, but I heard from my friend TOM, who is very good with 'hardware'...) and other review sites. I upgraded from a traditional HDD so obviously it is much faster. That goes without saying.
Excerpt: The HDD fits on my MAC, but the thin drive despite anti-static pads leaves a gap between the drive and the base plate. The drive is not in physical contact with the base, this means the drive is less than absolutely shielded from static.
Excerpt: Install of the drive went without a hitch. It was a bit faster than my previous Samsung 430. I never found any instructions on how to enable full disk encryption. This is Samsung's issue but it should have had clear, easy to find instructions. It was enabled when you enable drive password encryption from what I read in blogs.
Pros: Easy To Install, Fast, Highly Compatible, Reliable
