Very fast, great purchase

Summary: I did a lot of researching before I purchased this SSD and found it was rated highly on (not giving name of site, but I heard from my friend TOM, who is very good with 'hardware'...) and other review sites. I upgraded from a traditional HDD so obviously it is much faster. That goes without saying.
Summary: Supplied software moved system from HDD without any problems. Fast ( but as I'm using it via Sata II not as fast as it could be). Possibly not a Samsung issue, but it won't boot on my AMD chipset board with ACPI set in the BIOS Running fine on IDE but this may be contributing to the less than optimal speed. Obviously too soon to comment on reliability, but it does have Samsung's 5 year (limited) warranty.
Summary: If the review was confined to the SSD I would award five stars because it is that good. If you are a PC user the same would probably be true for the entire package, but for Mac users the software is useless. To make matters worse, Samsung do not make this software incompatibility clear. Indeed the opposite is true because the assistance offered to Mac users. on their website. is also useless.
Summary: This SSD is one of the best available on the market right now, it is reliable and lightning fast . My computer boots up in under 10 seconds, even with a lot of programs and services starting up with windows. If you are thinking about switching over from a standard HDD to an SSD, this should be number 1 on your list. The drive itself is nicely designed and VERY light, when you take it out of the box you will be shocked as to how light it is.
Summary: I bought this product as an upgrade to a previous SSD, mainly because I was having storage issues. It seems to do the job and at a reasonably price. I havnt noticed any major speed improvements even though it is said to be faster. It came with Samsung software which was very easy to use migrating from a smaller hard drive up.
Summary: I bought this SSD as I wanted to speed up the load times of my OS and applications. I have a Dell XPS Studio 8100 with Intel i7. Several reviews had put 840 pro as the best in the market. So far I have to say I'm pretty impressed, it's amazing to see typically slow applications like Word & Excel load at lightning speed!
Summary: I wasn't expecting too much increase in speed but it is very noticeable. I used to keep my laptop in sleep mode because of the infuriating boot time. Now I have it in shutdown, saving battery power. The supplied imaging software didn't work; or at least I think it didn't, It seemed to stick with the progress bar at 99%. It may have been verifying but there was no indication. I abandoned it and did a clean install instead, which is preferable anyway.
