Okay - failed after a few months use
Steven K., Newegg
31 May 2014
Summary: This drive failed after a few months of use. I had it installed in a system and then put that system to the side to use the Gigabyte Brix (which I love). I pulled the system out with this drive and it failed to boot. I tried re-installing two separate Operating Systems and both failed.
Summary: You would think that with the success Samsung's had with SSDs they would allow you to put complains / warranty claims for SSDs online. Other than this failure, the experience with the drive was great
Pros: Super fast, runs cool and with less power requirements than a regular HDD or even other SSDs. Worked great for 5 months.
Cons: After updating the firmware last night, the SSD stopped working. Won't boot or show up in the BIOS. Tried to get help online but I couldn't find the support links. (Links work great for washing machines, cell phones, TV's, just no SSD area yet)
Summary: My Wife was so ecstatic when I bought this ssd for her computer. after a night of installing, mucking around with data migration, and reinstalling things, the performance gains were measurable and amazing But alas, after a little over a month we started having problems, occassional freezes, disk...
Pros: High Speed SSD, reasonable price, trusted name
Pros: Maybe later...I haven't installed the drive yet.
Cons: Packaging for this SSD was inadequate for shipping and I'm genuinely concerned it may have been damaged along the way. The manufacturer's packaging alone is not protective...it's slightly larger than a CD case, but newegg shipped it in an envelope lined in bubble wrap that has no intact bubbles. ...
Summary: Luckily, I had my drive backed up and also luckily it was not my os drive. However, having it cease to work really buggered up my system and restoring that drive was no easy chore. I am pretty disappointed as I did not have a lot of read/writes on that drive at all... It was hardly used....
Pros: Fast drive but not reliable. 5 year warranty and replacement was excellent. They replaced the drive within 1.5 weeks of it failing. Next day air on the RMA and the replacement
Cons: Expensive and unreliable. Failed in 8 months with minimal usage and heat.
Summary: during the first month of ownership, the drive would not always be detectable after resuming from sleep. occurred maybe 3-4 times & then never again. a reboot always fixed it. until today. similar weird problems surrounded my other SSD purchases.
Pros: Crazy Fast. High Capacity. Sleek design & nice exterior build quality. Decent price per gigabyte even when it first came out.
Cons: First one was stolen out of my shipment. Newegg was great about sending me a replacement. Woke the computer from sleep & now replacement drive is no longer detectable in bios by 2 different computers over SATA or USB. The drive appears to be dead after less than 6 months. the quality here is infu...
Summary: Installed drive in early january. Ran very fast for two months and then died. Took a little while for Samsung to determine if the drive could be returned in Canada (it could not) so off to the US.
Pros: Very fast, Samsung paid RMA shipping both ways
Summary: Was an good deal on black friday for $148 with Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 games and a $25 NCIX GC FOR me the two games factored in heavily in pulling the trigger as they were on my buy list anyway.
Pros: Fast SSD, quick shipping by NCIX
Cons: Ubisoft Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 promo codes do not work
Summary: I have installed it as my laptop (Dell Insprion) drive and it crashed after 5 months. Drive seems to be not recognized neither as externally (via USB) nor internally (eSATA). When I contacted Samsung support line they offered me to reset the drive (or get a new one if they find it not reusable) -...
