Pros: It's an SSD?
Cons: I was talking with a developer the other day who has the same laptop that I do. I was complaining about how slow my laptop was and I mentioned that I think they have 5400RPM drives in them (Dell 6430U, what we call "Developer Grade"). He said "I have an SSD in mine." I was like: "WTH, I want an S...

Summary: I havent started booting off the new drive yet because Ive been getting an error migrating data from old drive - using the Samsung data migration tool. It fails with "cloning failed" "Target Disk has been disconnected -00001" Ive run it twice and it fails at the same spot.
Summary: I have been a big fan of Samsung hard drives and have purchased dozens over the years for my computers and for replacement/repairs. These were my first Samsung SSDs. I swapped out my existing OCZ Vertex 3 - 240GB for the 256GB Samsung. Prior to the swap, I never experienced stalls.
Pros: More space, speed is good, came with latest firmware loaded on both of the drives I purchased.
Cons: Despite latest firmware, I get random freezes like the computer is waiting for a disk read. Something as simple as pulling up the recently opened items in excel can pause for 20 seconds.
Summary: I got this to install in a Dell Precision 690, but after installing this product, Windows 7 started crashing every few hours with a BSOD. Event viewer showed that the error code was 0x124 (a Machine Check Exception, an error that the CPU core throws when it detects a fatal hardware issue in some...
Pros: - 128GB - Fast, works. - Neat black finish with Samsung logo.
Cons: Docking 1 egg for each of these issues: - This package does NOT include bracket to mount it in a 3.5" bay (very annoying). - Does not seem compatible with a Dell Precision 690 workstation (see below).
Pros: Great hard drive. Extremely quick. I'm able to transfer data at 250MB/s.
Cons: Difficult to install the drive into my dell enclosure. I purchased an after market adapter, but I unlucky that the far side of the drive slid into place between two rail and is not tightened by screws. The drive is installed, but not as securely as I would like. After installation, my installatio...
Summary: Probably going to buy a hybrid drive as I can't get a refund for this drive. I guess it works. For how long, not sure. Last time I low level formatted a drive, it had a lot of bad sectors and was slowly dying.
Pros: Not really sure yet. I finally got it to work after low level formatting the drive.
Cons: First drive arrived, and unable to detect the device. Used several different computers and controllers. Returned RMA, got second one today, and same issue. I was really angry (Yes, newegg, ANGRY), but I got the idea that maybe a low level format utility would detect the drive as one of my externa...
Summary: I can't clone my HDD onto the SSD to use it as the boot drive for my new ASUS laptop. The Norton Ghost software that comes with it, is unable to clone the hidden boot partition. Will be able to update this review if and when I can get this to happen, but until then I have to rate it as a 3 star.
Pros: The speed of these SSD's is attractive, and the price was very reasonable.
Cons: Can't use it yet, due to complication cloning the HDD.
