Summary: Just bought one of these drives and SMART reports 16,786 hours of runtime (697 days). Definitely NOT a new drive, even though it was sold as one and came in a sealed anti-static bag. Bought one from another vendor and it had 4000+ hours on it. Out of 6 drives I purchased, all had at least 4000 hours on them, and one failed two months after installation. Look elsewhere, or carry spares.
Summary: After less than two years of use it is corrupted and will not reformat. It's just dead. For the price, I guess two years is great, but I have HDD's five times as old that still work. Luckily, I was using it for the PS3. All the games are in my purchase history and can be re-downloaded. Since I have PS+ all my saves are safe as well.
Summary: The shipping was fast. The item is very good and reliable. I would highly recommend it as a spare HDD for macbook pro. No all Hard Drives fit in macbook pro as a second HDD. This one fits perfectly.
Summary: This drive came as OEM equipment with my Samsung laptop. While the laptop is excellent, the drive developed grinding noises after about a year. I swapped it out before it failed completely, but that was somewhat of a disappointment in an otherwise excellent package.
Summary: I purchased this drive to swap HDD for PS3. See YouTube for instructions. Solid product for what I intended to use. Too early to say it but I give it 4 stars for now. 1 star off due to insufficient and improper packaging when it was shipped.
Summary: I found this hard drive with 1 terabyte of data for about a the same price as many of the 500 megabyte drives out there. Samsung makes a great product, and I purchased this to upgrade the 120 megabyte drive I had in my PS3 slim. Worked like a charm, took literally 5 minutes for the swap, and I now have enough memory to last me God knows how long!
